Exciting Times

Hello

Is it too late to wish you all a happy new year? It’s been so busy and all go here at Purl A Row that I’ve jsut not had time to sit down and do a blog post.

So what’s been happening? Well back in November the archway of my shop fell down leading to scaffolding going up, loss of use of my car park and the upstairs room and toilet. This lead to a massive whole in the wall which meant it was soooo cold in the shop I couldn’t always open. Then in December the whole shop got covered in scaffolding it’s been a nightmare.

But things improved in January when I came back to a lovely fresh painted shop and I am so happy with the colour. I have also noticed an increase in new customers which is lovely to see and I welcome you all to the Purl A Row community.

Now that the re cap is out the way time for the exciting stuff.

On Saturday the 17th February I will be holding a shop celebration as I have been in Grantham for 2 years. It’s a little early but I am going for hip surgery so celebrating while I am able to stand. To celebrate I will be launching a brand new to the shop wool brand and I will be stocking their entire wool collection I am so pleased to welcome Baa Ram Ewe to Purl A Row. All natural fibres and gorgeous colours.

I will have some new products from Emma Ball too and some gorgeous hand dyed yarns.

You may have noticed as well the shiny new website. Thanks to Mathew I now have a site that is easy to navigate, easy on the eye and I can actually edit it. Please let me know if you spot any problems with it so I can make any changes.

Online shopping is now back up and running with postage day’s Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays. These may change slightly when I have my surgery.

Classes are going to be a little different this year. Sadly due to my hip surgery I won’t be running any classes this year as I just can’t commit to being there to do them. However the lovely Jenny from Fulbeck Fibres will be running some amazing Crochet classes throughout the year and maybe even some spinning classes.

I currently have quite a large sale on in the shop as I am no longer going to be stocking Rico yarns so they are all reduced. So why not pop in and see what is on offer.

There is now a sofa in the shop so you can chill and knit/crochet or just chill while you enjoy some company and you could even try something from the new drinks menu. You’ll also find a new pattern area. This is complete with a table and chair for you to sit and browse through all the patterns at your pace.

Sit & Socials are currently only Wednesday Morning 10:30 to 12:30 and Saturday afternoon 13:00 to 15:00 there is a small fee of £3.50 for these sessions. Please note these are not teaching sessions but help is on hand. No need to book these.

I can’t wait to see what this next year brings for Purl A Row and the lovely community that is starting to form. Everyone is welcome.

Warm Woolly Wishes
